Nobody can be you like you can be you.”
These words deeply resonate as I reflect on my journey as a participant and cohort co-lead in the She-Suite Brand Leadership Institute (BLI). Being nominated for the program was pivotal in my life and career. For the first time, I felt fully empowered to embody the parts of me that energize and awaken an unstoppable force. This experience has been transformational, fueling my personal and professional growth in ways I hadn’t imagined and gifting me lifelong connections. It also created a space for courageous conversations with other powerful women.
Before BLI, I knew I needed to reimagine the legacy I wanted to build in my career. I’ve never viewed my career as just a job—it has always been about the bigger picture and the impact I’m blessed to have on others. The program provided the framework and tools to define my personal mission, vision, and purpose. While Christ is my ultimate guide, this foundation has enhanced my decision-making process and how I approach my future.
One of the most eye-opening lessons came from the Purpose course, which reshaped how I think about my career. Rather than considering what I do for a living, it encourages me to reflect on the difference I want to make, how I want others to feel, and the lasting influence I wish to create. I realized that leaning into what inspires me isn’t just ambition—it’s a life goal worth pursuing. Through this course, I identified and documented my limiting beliefs, allowing me to remove barriers and entirely own where I want to show up most wholeheartedly and unapologetically.
Can I be candid with you for a moment? When I stepped up to become a cohort co-lead, a wave of self-doubt hit me like never before. I couldn’t help but think, ‘What have I gotten myself into?’ These women leaders were high-performing talent, and I questioned whether I was the right person for the role.
But then, I decided—to show up anyway. Instead of shrinking back, I leaned into what I do best: bringing creativity to our structured monthly meetings, creating space for others to contribute, customizing the experience to make it more meaningful, and leading with empathy.
And guess what? Once I let go of the self-sabotage, I realized that the very thing I was nervous about was the best decision I could have made. I stepped into leadership on my terms—and in doing so, I grew, stretched, and thrived in ways I never expected.
So, let this be a reminder: Lean in. Whatever limit you’re placing on yourself, challenge it. The discomfort? That’s growth knocking at your door. Answer it.
This journey has redefined success for me—not just achieving goals but fully walking in my calling each day with fulfillment, holistic well-being, and service. Through this program, I’ve learned to trust the process, approach challenges with resilience, and ensure my actions reflect my values and the mark I wish to leave behind.
As a woman of faith, I now see my career as more than a series of accomplishments—it’s a platform to serve, uplift, and build others while embodying the principles I hold dear. Knowing “whose” I am and recognizing the unique gifts God has entrusted to me, I’ve unlocked a deeper sense of clarity and confidence to pursue my calling with grace and intention.
Navigating change with a strong inner compass and a commitment to owning your entire brand—staying true to who you are across all spaces, whether in the workplace, at home, or in the community—fosters profound growth in all areas of life. I encourage you to lean into what truly captivates you—not what others expect or say you’re good at, but the areas where you soar the highest. The journey of discovery requires focus and dedication, but when you uncover what lights you up and refuse to settle for anything misaligned with your MVP (Mission, Vision, Purpose), the rewards are immeasurable.
Answer the door—what’s on the other side will be amazing!

“It’s working on the inside and the outside and that is incredibly unique. In order to present our best selves we have to be right internally as well as how we present ourselves externally and I don’t know of another program that combines all of that together. I established a philosophy about being the best option. It was taking that unconscious competence and turning it into a consensus competence for both men and women that enabled really great development. If you put this at the top of your business plan with coaching, developing and hiring, versus in the left-over time, you create an opportunity to have a high sustainable level of performance for your team.”

“Inclusive leadership is essential for managers who aim to develop strong and capable leaders. By fostering an environment where diverse perspectives are valued and everyone feels heard, managers empower individuals to contribute their best ideas and grow into leadership roles. Inclusive leaders inspire collaboration, creativity, and innovation by recognizing and leveraging the unique strengths of each team member. This approach not only drives better business results but also cultivates a culture of trust and belonging, ensuring the next generation of leaders is equipped with the skills and confidence to succeed.”

“2018 – This was the She-Suite Summit that changed my outlook. As a working mom with school-aged children, I was busy but struggling to regain my purpose. At the 2018 summit, I was inspired by women who were thriving—fulfilled while making a professional impact. My journey to regain my “why” began that weekend and led to a shift in my career direction. I joined a group of accountability partners and later began to pursue opportunities that tapped into both my passion and training. At the intersection of law and policy, I regained my professional joy. In the years that followed, I found opportunities that gave me purpose and led to my current role as a Senior Staffer to New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy where I lead a policy office focused on closing opportunity gaps in the Garden State. Thank you Melissa Dawn Simkins for your visionary leadership and your team for the She-Suite Summit.”

“What I love about The Brand Leadership Institute is the intention in helping leaders connect their purpose, understand how to advocate for themselves, and expand their influence. This impact isn’t just for them personally bout also for their teams and the organization they serve.
When you truly take the time and energy to understand who you are at your core, you unlock the ability to grow. And there’s power in being surrounded by others who look like you, who have faced similar challenges, and who are committed to lifting each other up.
That’s what The She-Suite does – it brings leaders together does—it brings women together, helping them advance their careers, embrace the power of mentorship and coaching, and leverage the strength of their networks. Any organization that is serious about developing and advancing women should take a close look at the impact of this work.”

“My 16 year old daughter wanted to start a non-profit to help community resources in achieving their mission. When she asked me for help, I went straight away to make sure she had a mission, vision, and purpose. She was able to use that in her very first article on her organization and benefit! So thank you for all you’ve taught. Much of the lessons she’s learned were things I learned from you and your organization.”

“Balance is so important to leading a full and successful life! I had the privilege of completing the She-Suite BLI this past spring, and it was by far one of the best leadership development programs I’ve been able to participate in. The focus was not just on career development and being authentic and bold, it placed equal focus on being present and engaged with ourselves and our families. When all are in harmony, you can accomplish big things!”
